Post Graduate Course M.A. / M.Sc. Mathematics (Admission according to University admission rules).
 
Admission Rules (For Under Graduate Courses)
 
  • A student who has a clear pass in the Higher Secondary Part-II examination (Class 12) of the J&K Board of School Education or an examination recognized as its equivalent by the University of Jammu is only eligible for admission to B.A. / B.Sc. Part-I.
  • A student, whose result is declared late by the J&K Board, may be admitted as per admission rules of the University, subject to the availability seats.
  • A student who is admitted to the college and completes the minimum required attendance but either fails or does not appear in the ensuing University examination, will not be considered for admission in the same class again.
  • A student with a break in academic career will not be considered for admission in the college. However, the Principal may condone one year's break: in case of students where he feels convinced about the reasons leading to the break in studies.
  • If a student after being admitted remains continuously absent for 14 days. He / she shall be removed from the college rolls and shall not be readmitted to the same class during the same year. The year so wasted shall be counted as a year of break and dealt with under appropriate clauses, if he /she presents himself / herself for readmission during the same year.   • Except in the case of Geology, Geography, Electronics, and Statistics, no applicant for B.A / B.Sc. Part-I shall take up any subject unless he had taken up the same subject in the previous examination passed.
  • No applicant for B.A / B.Sc. Part-I can take up Mathematics, Statistics as subject unless he has qualified the higher secondary part-II or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • Change of subject is not permitted in B.A / B.Sc. Part-II or B.A / B.Sc. Part-III.
  • Admission to a particular subject or combination of subjects, is purely subject to the availability of seats.
 
Admission Process
 
  • Admission is open to state subjects and children of Central Govt. Employees, Army and Para-Military Personnel in J&K State.
  • The admission schedule is announced every year containing detailed information and is published in the local newspapers much earlier than the start of the admission.
  • Students seeking admission in B.A / B.Sc. Part-I shall apply on printed application form available in the college. They will attach one attested copy each of the marks sheet of the higher secondary part-II or other equivalent examination and provisional certificate and photocopy of category certificate as per S.R.O 126 of 1994 with the applicant. They should mention three combination choices within stream in order to preference as per the combinations available in the college. No change of combination shall be allowed after the admission. Students are advised in their own interest to apply for other streams and so other colleges as well.
  • On receipt of applications, selection lists shall be drawn on the basis of merit (%age marks obtained in class 12th).
  • Students belonging to Reserved Categories as listed in SRO-126 dated 28.06.1994 shall get additional weightage of 5% marks (i.e. 30 marks out of total of 600).
  • A merit list of the candidates selected for admission shall be put up on the college Notice Board. The selected candidates shall then fill in and submit the proper admission form. The forms duly filled in and signed by the parent or guardian shall be submitted to the college office on or before the expiry of the last date, notified separately. The applicants who do not submit the admission forms with all the requisite certificate attached therewith or do not deposit the fee within the time limit prescribed, shall be dropped from the merit list and the next meritorious applicant shall be considered for admission.
  • Subject to availability of seats a second and third list shall be put up.
  • The Principal reserves the right to accept or reject any application deemed not fit for admission without assigning any reason.
  • The following certificates, testimonials etc. must be attached with the admission form:
    • Provisional certificate (in original) issued by the institution last attended.
    • Marks certificate of the class last passed (original and two attested copies).
    • Character Certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last attended.
    • In case of the private candidates, a character certificate should signed by a First Class Magistrate / SHO concerned.
    • Three similar copies of a recent pa size photograph.
    • Matriculation Certificate (Original) and two attested copies.
    • Transfer certificate of father or guardian in case of children of Military / Para-Military personnel or Central Govt. Employees.
    • Reserved category certificate from the competent authority as started in SRO-126 dated 28.6.1994 (original and two attested copies).
    • Students passing from School Board or University other than J&K Board of School Education or Jammu University are required to produce a migration certificate and attested copies thereof.
    • Completed admission forms of all the selected candidates shall be scrutinized along with all the enclosures before they are granted admission. They shall then deposit the Admission Fee in the college office on or before the last date fixed.
